Arte drama head Olivier Wotling joins Asacha Media’s Mintee Studio as producer
Olivier Wotling, head of drama at Franco-German cultural broadcaster Arte, is moving into the production sector with Asacha Media.
Wotling will join Asacha-owned Mintee Studio as a producer from July 1 to develop premium dramas for the European and international markets.
A qualified philosophy teacher, Wotling had a wide and varied media career, starting when he was appointed Audiovisual Attaché in the French Embassies of Bulgaria, Hungary and Italy during the 1990s.
In 2000, he joined France’s Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée (the National Centre for Cinema and the Moving Image) as advisor on European affairs, before being appointed head of cinema in 2006. He then joined Franco-German cultural network Arte in 2015 as head of drama.
During his time at Arte, Wotling oversaw the production of dramas including En thérapie, Il Miracolo, Le Monde de demain, Les Papillons noirs and Esterno Notte.
Asacha CEO Gaspard de Chavagnac said: “We are delighted to welcome Olivier as a producer within Asacha Media Group. We are looking forward to seeing him put his editorial and international expertise at the service of creating premium, high-value-added dramas.”
Wotling added: “Joining Mintee Studio and Asacha Media Group is a wonderful opportunity for me to keep on developing qualitative, artistic and creative programmes. I cannot wait to put my editorial skills and managerial experience to use in producing creative, premium, European and international dramas, as well as connecting with talented writers, directors and producers.”
